About The Trust

Simnasty Trust is an organization meant for empowering, educating and nurturing the young and gifted for sustainable growth in the sports and arts arena. The name is derived from a computer term, ‘simplex’ which means one way transmission and ‘dynasty’ which means a group or lineage of people related by blood; thus, Simnasty refers to a group of people related by one desire or one direction that leads to creation of a sustainable and ever-growing industry for our talents.

What motivated us?

Living in Zimbabwe and witnessing the fading away of promising talents due to lack of support emotionally, professionally or intellectually has led to this assembly. During our high school days there were talented singers, poets, footballers, basketball players, cricket players among others but now they are consumed in the academic’s realm thus depriving the industry of its full potential. Our education system and policies are not designed to accommodate and support talents; thus, we have sheer talent reduced to troublemakers in society, drug abusers, unhappy employees among other things.

What We Do

We assemble as youths who have lost a part of us or are still trying to chase the artist or athlete that lies dormant, deep within us. As an organization we are here to offer mentorship and training programs to our talents through awareness campaigns, seminars, providing a platform to showcase their talents, and anything that helps them professionally and personally.

What are the numbers?

According to the U.S Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA)and the National Endowment for the Arts, arts contributed $763,6 billion to the U.S economy in 2015, 4,2 percent of the GDP and counted 4,9 million workers. According to an ABS report, value of sport in Australia (2015) reveals that the combined value of sports in 2011-12 was $12,8 billion approximately 21% of the GDP. If this can be translated in Zimbabwe, this will help thousands of Zimbabwean talents get employed and be able to provide for their families. With these talents getting recognition and support they can sustain themselves by creating another generation of athletes and artists leading to decent employment, lower extreme poverty in their communities and contribute to economic growth.

Future & Roadmap

We intend to liaise with stakeholders interested in the growth of the talent industry from the government, sporting/art companies (football clubs, record labels, academies, etc.) in order to create a sustainable and growing industry. We hope to address the issues that are hindering the success of our beloved industry from health and drug abuse, piracy and distribution of content.
